The NVM wins lifesaving grant from Culture Recovery Fund

Earlier today (12th October 2020) we were delighted to find out that we have received critical support from Arts Council England’s Culture Recovery Fund. This grant enables us to keep operating through these incredibly unprecedented times. We’d like to thank all of our supporters, who have kept us going through our darkest hours at the start of lockdown, with this further funding allowing us to rebuild as the pandemic continues.

The fund was created by Arts Council England following the Government’s decision to make £1.57 billion available for arts and cultural organisations that wouldn’t be able to outlast the pandemic. We now still alongside a wide range of arts venues, theatres, museums and cultural organisations across the UK that will be supported by this first round of £250 million in funding.

Our Chair Trustee, Iain Livingstone CBE, said “We are so relieved that our educational and cultural programmes will keep going through this next phase of the pandemic. We plan to continue to preserve, celebrate and interpret games culture for years to come in our unique museum”.

We wish all other arts and culture organisations the best, particularly our neighbours in Sheffield throughout this ongoing difficult time.
