Book NowDelve into the world of videogame physics and discover new ways to play with science with Locoroco, and Turbo Dismount. Both of these games take concepts from physics and rethink how we could use them within fun, colourful videogame worlds.
Our short history of in-game physics and physics based game engines is explored through Thrust and Portal 2. Both these games highlight the extraordinary developments in videogame physics, from being able to create simple spacecrafts affected by inertia and gravity to playing around with physics to solve puzzles!
Our Playing with Physics game station was initially introduced in February 2023 as part of a special event for February half term.
Working in collaboration with the University of Sheffield and CERN, visitors were able to explore the Large Hadron Collider facility. Adults, families and children alike were able to learn about all the research that takes place at the CERN facility, via an immersive 360 degree tour. It was part of a project that aims to make research more accessible to a wider audience.
In collaboration with The University of Sheffield and CERN our brand new ‘Exploring Physics, Videogames & The ATLAS Detector’ workshop is now available for secondary school, college and university educational visit bookings.
