Set off on a delightful expedition and use your photographic eye to uncover the mysteries of the magical TOEM in this hand-drawn photo adventure game.

 In TOEM, the player explores serene Scandinavian style towns and landscapes, helping the people they meet and earning stamps for the bus in the process.

The search for TOEM

Progress is made in TOEM: A Photo Adventure through taking photos of things and people. Helping people out and completing tasks will earn the player stamps, which they can use to take the bus and reach the mountain, where they can find the phenomenon “Toem.”

The game is developed by Something We Made. They are an independent Swedish game studio and TOEM is their debut project which was conceptualized back in 2018. The game’s early prototype was submitted to local game competition which it won!

The game features a monochrome, hand-drawn art style, and it features a mix of 2D and 3D characters and objects. The art style was inspired by pop-up books.

Interesting Facts

• Every developer’s pet can be found in the game. Getting a photo of each one earns a special achievement!

• The game went through several significant design revisions throughout its four-year development process. It was originally envisioned as a point and click adventure with puzzle elements. However, the team struggled with designing of the puzzles.

• The game was redesigned 4 times during it’s development.
