Play Together, Make Together

There’s loads to do this summer at The National Videogame Museum for all the family! With over 100 playable games there’s something for all ages as well as gamer’s and non-gamers alike!

But it’s not just games to play this summer!

Our brilliant team have developed creative new activities and drop in workshops for friends and families to take part in during their visit.

You may have seen that we’re encouraging friends and families to Play Together this summer, well we’re also encouraging them to Make Together too!

Drop in Workshops

New Workshops & Activities

This summer start coding and making your own videogame with our drop-in workshops every Wednesday and Thursday during the morning (10am-12.30pm) and afternoon (1pm-3.30pm) sessions.

Led by our own knowledgeable Learning Facilitators take part and get creative with the following workshops:

Bitsy

Have a go at making your own simple videogame with Bitsy, a free game editor made by Adam le Doux! We’ll help get you started with the basics of Bitsy and show you have to start making your own game – no coding necessary!

BBC Micro:Bit

Get started with block-based coding with the BBC Micro:Bit, a tiny circuit board with programmable lights and buttons! Have a go at programming lights, adding sound and even creating a game with the micro:bit.

Sphero Mini Robot

On the back of the Lionesses brilliant EURO 2022 triumph, try out our football themed activity – just one of many ongoing activities we are running alongside the workshops.

Programme the Mini Robot Ball using code via an app to make the ball change direction, control it’s speed and even change it’s colour! It’s a great way to play STEM games and learn to code!
