Form a band with your friends to play your favourite songs!
After the first two releases, development of the Guitar Hero franchise was bought by Activision and handed over to Neversoft from the original developers Harmonix. Instead, Harmonix went on to create Rock Band and then Rock Band 2, and Rock Band 3, adding more instruments to the gameplay.
Rock Band includes a lead guitar, bass guitar, drums and vocals, allowing up to four players to join the band. The Rock Band franchise went on to become hugely successful, both in sales of the games and additional songs available as DLC. In 2011, Harmonix’s Chris Rigopulos stated in an interview with Game Informer that they had passed 100 million songs downloaded for Rock Band.
