FIFA 22 brings the game even closer to the real thing with fundamental gameplay advances and a new season of innovation across every mode. 

FIFA is one of the most popular game series of all time. The series’ virtual recreations of football annually sells millions of copies often topping the charts year on year.

It’s In The Game

This version of FIFA includes a stunning recreation of Sheffield’s own Bramall Lane. The stadium was added to the series in FIFA 20 after Sheffield United’s promotion to the Premier League in 2018/19.

FIFA 22 saw the addition of women’s commentating for the first time, with ex- Arsenal and England international right back, Alex Scott included in the in-game announcers.

The series continues to build on representation in the series with a significant milestone reached with the introduction of women teams playable for the first time in FIFA 16. 

Interesting Facts

• FIFA 22 is the penultimate title in the series to carry the FIFA name. With EA Sports’ deal with world football’s governing body coming to an end, the series will be rebranded as EA Sports FC.

• In response to the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, EA removed Russian national teams from all versions of its football titles. They also made Russain and Belarusian players ineligible for FIFA 22.

• This version of the game saw the introduction of ‘Hypermotion Technology’. This uses motion capture data from 22 real-life players playing a complete football match in motion capture suits.
