Sheffield based illustrator Tom J Newell will be delivering a special bauble painting workshop throughout the evening. Workshops will run for around 20 minutes with multiple opportunities to get creative and design your unique Christmas decoration. Tom’s intricate, surreal and detailed art is often inspired by nature, music and myth. You may wish to follow in his footsteps or draw inspiration from your favourite videogame and Christmas film.
Tom has built a name for himself within Sheffield’s Art scene since the early 2000’s and you may recognise his penmanship in some of Sheffield’s finest independent institutions.
Shop for unique Christmas gifts at our Mini Makers Market. We’ve specially selected a range of makers to give you a variety of choice, from traditional gifts to more videogame inspired pieces which will appeal to the gamer in your family. Think Pokémon cross stitch or space invaders inspired jewellery.
Our Museum shop will also be open for all your gaming present needs. With gifts ranging from our ever popular Gang Beast plushies to gorgeous Monument Valley prints, there really is something for everyone.

Christmas Cards with the NVM Team
Following the success of our October Half-Term pixel art printing workshop, we’re bringing the activity back, but with a festive spin! Use LEGO to create your festive design and our team will show you have to print a unique Christmas card from your creation. Will you create a traditional Christmas scene or something inspired by videogames? Drop into this workshop throughout the evening in between shopping and playing.
Our Gallery will be fully open and playable throughout the evening for plenty of friendly competition. Will you relive the games of your childhood through exploration of our arcade or discover a new favourite?
Feeling competitive? We’ll be running a high score competition on our exclusive Super Snowball Fight Party. A firm favourite among visitors, the aim of the game? Pelt your friends with the most snowballs to win.
We will have a selection of festive drinks available from our pop-up paid bar throughout the evening.
