Discover rare objects in a brand new cabinet display alongside an exhibition of short films celebrating beautiful videogame worlds.
Games like Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption and Assassin’s Creed will be discussed for the first time in the Museum with ‘Other Places’. Curated by journalist, author and photographer Andy Kelly, Other Places is an exhibition of short films celebrating the artistry of videogame worlds and environments.
Our curator, Emily Theodore Marlow, had the chance to chat with Andy Kelly about Other Places, its origins and how it was brought to life. Read all about it in Exploring Other Places with Andy Kelly.
Every day families and visitors will be able to:
📍 Follow a special map to traverse three separate trails to discover ‘Real Places’ in videogames, ‘Locally Made’ videogames and game locations which are ‘Out of this World’.
🗺 Craft buildings and design landscapes to contribute to a giant ‘World Building’ map
And on Tuesdays & Wednesdays every week:
🤖 Program and code Ozobot, a mini robot, every Tuesday & Wednesday.
We’re open every day through the summer holidays starting from the 22nd July, 10am-1pm & 2pm-5pm.
